Monika Hämmerle studied medicine at the Medical University of Innsbruck. She is currently working as a PhD student in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Dontscho Kerjaschki at the Clinical Institute for Pathology. Her research interests focus on the characterization of lymphatic endothelial cells in type 2 diabetes.
